Major (Rtd) Hamzah bin Md Lazim holds the Master of Science in Emergency Response & Planning from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He is currently pursuing his Doctorate. He is also a registered member of Asian Institute of Management Sciences, Kuala Lumpur.
He last held the position of Director of Safety and Security at a Resort in Cyberjaya. He was fully responsible for the security and safety covering premises of Hotels, Apartments, Offices and Condominiums.
In the field of Safety and Health, he was the Development Safety Manager during the entire development of Kuala Lumpur Sentral. His direct involvement was during the construction of Platform, Stesen Sentral, Plaza Sentral, Suasana Condominum, Hilton Hotel and Le Meridien Hotel. During the outbreak fire at carpark below Hilton Hotel KL Sentral he was fully in charge coordinating the safe escape of trapped staff and closely assisting Fire Department.
During his tenure at Kuala Lumpur Sentral, he made his qualifications as Safety & Health Officer (NIOSH), Forklift Safety Awareness, Competent Track Safety (KTM), CIDB Green card. He is a Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) No. 1781 (JKKP IS 127/438/2/1918). His latest addition is as certified trainer from HRDF.
He has conducted training for various organizations ranging from SMI to large MNCCs and semi-government agencies. Among his previous clients includes HL Engineering, Lumur Perak; Malaysian Association of Hotels, Selangor; Camden University’s Distance Learning Masters’ in Occupational Safety & Health Program; Tenaga Malaysia Berhad, Nestle Malaysia and Public Bank Berhad.
